My name is Gadsden, not Gladstone

Especially because I'm a Liberal Democrat, I seem to get regularly mistaken for a relative of one of the party's great heroes. I'm not related to him, except insofar as any human being is related to any other.

William Ewart Gladstone is a huge hero of mine of course, so I decided to set up this blog to promote him as a candidate for a fifth term as Prime Minister.

Perhaps not, but you can expect an occasional posting about what he might have thought about recent events, or a straight posting on history, mostly when I don't have something I want to say in my own voice.
